Something about the colors during the winter makes it very special. If we look from far, we miss it! If we look too close, we miss it! It is almost as if the intention, the willingness to seek the colors and textures, is a prerequisite to seeing it. The tawny gold and coppery red tips of Golden Curls; the red, peach and yellow of the Midwinter Fire; colorful berries of the winterberry holly and all the little creatures that they attract, the contorted white pine.
