Many times in life, we taste the bitterness of loss, frustration, and sadness. With less frequency, though, we seek to acknowledge and appreciate those moments as transformational and an opportunity for learning and growth. We have learned to incorporate "bitterness" as a negative when it is just informing us through our senses. Then we give meaning to what we tasted. Microgreens are very healthy, although they can taste bitter depending on the species. It starts bitter, but the aftertaste becomes almost sweet. My children enjoy picking, eating, making faces, and starting again! I suppose the analogy needs to take a different direction from here in the case of overcoming bitterness toward others. It won't help keep feeding on it. Instead, forgiving and letting go of the resentment would be a better approach.
